I'm so glad you decided to visit my blog. I am a natural beauty visionary and aspiring creative entrepreneur. For me, simplicity is the key to natural beauty. Although my natural hair journey is what brought me to the online community, there is so much more that I'm passionate about.
The highlight of my blog, as a freelance writer and conversationalist, is that I get to share my life as just Naumi, not as an expert, guru, or insider. Although a beauty inspired blog, it is my mission to inspire, entice stimulating conversation that will turn heads, raise brows, and pull varying perspectives.
I hope you enjoy my blog whether you found it by chance or came here to learn more about the girl behind the hair. Since you're here, enjoy these FAQ's:
Describe a day in your life:
I lead a simple lifestyle. Whatever fits. I enjoy creative writing and my new love for blogging is taking center stage when I'm not busy with the big stuff. My day usually starts around 6:00 am. I wake up, I get ready, I take a short walk outdoors or I park myself in front of my computer where I spend most of my day researching, reading, writing, and creating. It doesn't seem that interesting really.
I make occasional trips to the local bookstore for a good read and possibly a hot chai tea (spice milk tea from India). I spend a great amount of time with my son. His quirky, fun personality keeps me smiling and makes being at home enjoyable. He'll be heading off to college soon so I frequently wonder what my days will be like without him. Once we grab our laptops in the evening hours I'm back to writing and surfing the web for inspiration and knowledge. Any time between 11:00 pm to 3:00 am - lights out.
What is your writing niche? Everything has a past. History and time are the only constant elements of life that exist because they never cease to be. No future is guaranteed because history has claimed it. My writing style merges fashion and beauty with an appreciation for the history behind it. What we once had, heard, saw, or did and what we've loved are a mirrors reflection of our true selves and it is written in our very own historical pages of life.
What are you thankful for? My mistakes. They are my path to greatness. Thank you for my yesterday and many more thanks to those whose contributions and great works have paved the way for countless others.
What are you into?
Art, fashion, and love. Art is a quiet passion of mine but my life is starting to embrace it with volume. I'm beginning to be more environmentally aware so I can imagine that my life will begin to be shaped by this. I have a big appetite for life...and food. I'm willing to try almost anything once. My favorite meal is grilled fish; Cajun style, spicy rice, and a fresh green salad. It is rare for me to go one day without eating a salad. I'm passionate about food and I get more excited about dessert than I do about new shoes! Just to give you an idea of how much I love new shoes; my nickname as a child was nooshoos (new shoes).
What do you do for a living?
I write. I care for skin. I live. I enjoy a free mindset that some people may not understand. I believe in living life rather than just living in it. What I do for a living has to support my passions as well as my expenses otherwise it doesn't fit. I provide "pound the pavement" sales & marketing services on a day to day basis but what I do from week to week varies.
What do you love about the world?
I love the diversity of it. People, places, languages, cultures, seasons, and changing land terrains. It makes me sad that we don't live harmoniously together in it.
What type of music do you like to listen to and where do you enjoy it?
I prefer small, cozy venues...mostly jazz, blues, and R&B but I'm open. My ears love the sounds of nature.
Where do you like to shop?
Usually at busy shopping destinations where the streets are lined with shops and restaurants because I enjoy the scenery and I like to walk. Some of my favorite shopping destinations in Los Angeles are Hollywood & Highland, Santa Monica Promenade, and Melrose. I'm in love with cozy boutiques that sell unique pieces. I am still exploring Dallas so I haven't discovered any go-to shopping destinations just yet.
I hope you enjoy getting to know me on a more personal level. I look forward to your readership.
Hope to have you back soon!
