Beauty on a Budget Goes Beyond the Red Tag Sale

So you've planned a shopping spree or beauty weekend with the girls? When you get to the sales counter you may be tempted to just reach into your wallet, grab a card and swipe but I advise you to stop, drop that card, and listen up. Beauty on a budget goes beyond sales and product comparisons.

Choosing the right credit card at the right time can save you money and possibly put cash back in your pocket.  If you have several credit cards, trying to decide which one to use for your planned shopping trip can be challenging if you're not knowledgeable about each one. The first step in mastering credit card usage is getting to know your cards. What is your interest rate on each card? Do your credit cards offer programs such as reward points or cash back incentives? Is there a daily spending limit attached?

Choosing the card with the lowest interest rate may be the best option because you'll save money on interest charges in the long run. The interest rate influences how much you pay for carrying a balance month-to-month. However, cards with reward points for gas and travel may come in handy on your next girl’s weekend trip. Another point to consider if you have a debit card with a Visa or MasterCard logo is whether or not you get cash back rewards for using your debit card as a credit card while shopping. This simply entails signing for your purchase and showing identification rather than entering a pin number.

Armed with this knowledge, you can best determine which card to use and maybe even save a little cash throughout the year. Cha ching!

See ya lata’ and happy shopping!

Coffee Break! What's Up With Customer Service?

Hola Cara Bellas!

I want to just get right down to it. For those of us in the beauty, cosmetics, fashion, or similar industry, we do a lot of shopping. That gives us an opportunity to interact with a lot of different people, we stand in lines and wait patiently, and it makes us less sensitive to bad customer service. I won't say that we don't notice bad customer service but rather we don't take it personally. We do this so often that we just want to get in and get out. "Just give me my stuff so I can move on with my busy life. Please." Because we spend so much money and we know how many brands and stores there are available to us, if we get bad customer service, we just move on to the next brand or store that will be more than happy to have our money. Time out: Keep in mind that not every fashionista or beauty guru will share my view.

I went into a store yesterday to exchange one piece of luggage for two additional pieces of luggage. The first customer service representative that assisted me provided me with a return ticket and I ventured off to the luggage section. The luggage that I wanted was unfortunately sold out in the size that I needed so I grabbed the smaller size and walked up to the counter. A different CSR was there to assist me and I said, "Hi! I'm exchanging that piece of luggage over there but unfortunately the luggage I want is no longer available. This is it in a smaller size. Can we call another store to find out if they have the size I need?" What do you think? Do you think my question was clear?
