The Makeup Show in Los Angeles!
It's that time of year again!
Rain or shine, I'll be at the Makeup Show in Los Angeles for another day of makeup, education, demonstrations, and amazing deals on skin care and cosmetic products. If you've been to The Makeup Show before whether in Los Angeles, Chicago, or New York you know that it's the best time to stock up on supplies and products. As a PRO only event, the networking opportunities are endless.
I expect this year to be different than the last because last year I was a newbie and I couldn't contain my excitement. I was skipping in delight from booth to booth with a big smile on my face and eyes open as bright as the sun; cash was burning a hole in my pocket. I wanted everything! One smart thing I did, which I do well, is connect with some key people. In this industry, connections are a necessity and The Makeup Show is a great place to do just that.
Now, as a licensed professional, I know what my priorities are and I'll be able to take full advantage of my day. My main goal this year is to attend an educational workshop and purchase a few new makeup brushes. I'm interested in trying out Eve Pearl's HD Dual Foundation and Salmon Concealer and I want to visit Smashbox, Inglot, Naked Cosmetics, and Make Up For Ever. Although I can't pass up the big names just mentioned, I like to support upcoming businesses too so I'll be looking for new brands as well.
The Makeup Show starts in Los Angeles on February 26th and 27th at the California Market Center. This event is open to industry professionals and top artists. See you there!
Lots of Love!

Nothing Says Black Like Black Lace
No, I'm not talking about the British pop group Black Lace. I'm talking about the sexy, classy, sultry, and timeless textile that has been around for decades. From the Victorian era until today, black lace has impacted fashion immensely.
Black lace peeking through is a sexy and easy alternative to classic black. There are countless ways to work this detailed fabric into your wardrobe. A hint of black lace detail in a blouse or a full black lace camisole, and black lace accessories, such as leggings, bracelets, and belts are all great options. A handbag, pouch or clutch is the perfect way to incorporate lace into your outfit on a day-to-day basis. During my last shopping trip at Forever 21, I discovered a few lacy things of my own. Look for them in one of my upcoming OOTD videos on YouTube.
So next time you reach into your closet or shuffle through the rack at your favorite apparel store for classic black, don't be afraid to inject your style with a little black lace.

Quick Tips for Looking Fabulous in Cold Climates
Despite the weather, it is possible to look fabulous all the time! You probably have a trick or two up your sleeve to stay warm and look fab at the same time, but if not, I've got you covered. So, read a few of my highlighted tips below:
Bad hair day or protecting your natural tresses from the cold? Invest in a few fashionable scarves and fedoras. A scarf can add a trendy statement to your wardrobe while keeping you warm in the process. Top your scarf with a fedora.
Thought layering was a thing of the past? Layering is not only fashionable but a smart move when trying to stay warm outdoors. When you layer you can add a variety of complimentary colors and textures to your outfit. A jacket or coat, layered over a vest, layered over a light sweater, layered over a tee that peeks from below is a great combo.
Stash any accessories lately? When you bundle up for the winter, there's not always room for accessories such as bangles and bracelets. If you stash a few accessories in your handbag, you'll be ready for an unexpected social event.
Boots are a must! They keep your feet warm and they look great with a variety of items such as denim jeans, dresses, and skirts. You can always pack a cute shoe to change into if you're going to an event.

What's All the Hoopla About African Black Soap?
Although I've never been the bar soap kind of girl, there are a plethora of options. Bar soaps come in a variety of fragrances, colors, shapes, sizes, and added ingredients. Unfortunately, bar soap is known to dry out your skin and there are a lot of unnecessary ingredients that simply do nothing more than make the soap smell good and look pretty. There is, however, one bar soap that has caught my attention and we've begun a secret love affair.
